Designs for a Drowned Galway

Stuck in rush hour traffic on Wolfe Tone Bridge? Turn your head and find yourself immersed in a near future Galway. The abnormal has become normal, and floods and sea level rising have transformed the city.

Watch while you pass by, as a high spring tide on the Claddagh Basin becomes the backdrop for a performance art installation envisaging Galway’s inhabitants going about their everyday lives in a new inundated reality. Artists from Ireland and Palestine imagine how we might cope with this enormous and imminent change. How close does the future have to come before we care enough to act?

How will we walk on water? Don't you know, we're talking about a revolution…
