Description

Join us in An Cheathrú Rua for the launch of the TURAS CHONAMARA digital & audio map. Created through the large-scale AN ÁIT AB ÁIL LIOM community & heritage project with Conamara Gaeltacht communities from Carna to Cois Fharraige, the map documents the region’s incredibly rich Irish language music, oral and literary culture, and the deep connection between the land and its people.

Download the map as an app and explore the Irish language and landscape of the Conamara Gaeltacht at your own pace. Listen to local voices share hidden treasures, discover places through the stories, songs and music which sprang from them, and immerse yourself in a unique sense of place.

Launching with the map of An Cheathrú Rua, we will be releasing new map sections throughout 2020.
