CEARDLAINN | MAKER SESSIONS
Thanks to everyone who donated a broken brolly or participated in the February sessions. 68 participants helped us dismantle 667 rescued umbrellas. That’s 54Kg of metal and 667msq of fabric out of landfill and ready for new lives as artworks.
Participants worked together to re-purpose broken umbrellas into functional artworks as street-side rain shelters. They learnt design and sewing skills, as well as shared up-cycling and recycling skills, in a very sociable and caring setting.
Míle buíochas leo siúd ar bhronn scáth báistí briste orainn nó ar ghlac páirt i seisiúin mí Feabhra. Chabraigh 68 duine linn 667 scáth báistí a bhaint as a chéile. B’shin 54kg miotal agus 667m2 éadach ar shábháil muid ón mbrúscar – ábhar a mbainfear úsáid as i saothar nua ealaíne.
D'oibrigh na rannpháirtithe le chéile scáthláin báistí do thaobh na sráide a chrothú as . D’fhoghlaim siad scileanna dearaidh agus fuála, chomh maith le scileanna roinnte rothaíochta agus athchúrsála, i suíomh an-shóisialta agus comhbhách.
